Full-time position for Senior Pastor

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements

• The Senior Pastor will demonstrate the character and teaching abilities described in passages such as Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7. 
• Total agreement with Victory Chapel Baptist Church’s Declaration of Faith.
• Able & willing to train others
• Able to delegate
• Open to new ministries including outside the church
• Mission minded

Additional Considerations

The Pastor search team may also consider:

• Theological Education
• Previous vocational experience in the ministry 
• Audio / Video samples of sermons
• Existing blogs, social media, or other written material 

Specific Responsibilities

• Will lead Victory Chapel Baptist Church by preaching and teaching ministry, recognizing that God’s Word is central to church life and spiritual growth. The Senior Pastor will devote himself to the study of God’s Word.  (Ephesians 4:11- 13; 2 Timothy 2:15; Titus 1:9)

• Will be transformed by the renewal of the mind by time in prayer and personal time with the Lord. (1 Timothy 4:16; Romans 12:1-2)

• Will model the heart of the Chief Shepherd and ensure that the flock is well led, cared for, and protected. (1 Peter 5:1-3; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5; John 21:17) 

• Will oversee a healthy deacon ministry. He will communicate church needs to deacons and delegate tasks to the deacon body. 

• Oversee and execute the ordinances of baptism & the Lord’s Supper. He will also officiate funerals & weddings. 

• Will ensure completion of ongoing administrative tasks of the church. This responsibility includes overseeing church staff and volunteers in their responsibilities.
